LOV X PUERTO RICO
An Ongoing Commitment to Access, Growth and Community in Naranjito & Beyond!
In October 2025, Lights Out Volleyball launched LOV X PUERTO RICO, rooted in LOV and guided by the belief that every young person deserves opportunity and access to the game. Starting at Escuela Francisco Morales in Naranjito, and now laying the foundation for a new school partnership in Yabucoa, we’ve brought together students, teachers, coaches, professional athletes, and community leaders to create opportunities at every level and grow through human connection and joy! LOV X PUERTO RICO is a commitment to return, learn alongside one another, and nurture the growth of every young person in mind, body, and soul, reminding us of our shared humanity as we #SharetheLOV! ❤️🔥🇵🇷

From day one, we’ve worked hand-in-hand with the school’s principal, athletic director, teachers, coaches, and families, listening first and building programming around what students actually need. We keep showing up, and the impact keeps growing! Since October 2025, we’ve returned in December 2025 and April 2026, reaching 185+ students during over multiple days of programming on each visit.
Here’s what we’ve built together:
🏐 Power of Sport: Multi-day clinics for every stage, from beginner-friendly introductions and ball-control fundamentals to position-specific training for girls’ and boys’ school teams, all in an encouraging space built on teamwork, communication, and confidence!
🌬️ The Way of LOV: Performance begins with the whole person. Professional boxer Luis Rodriguez joined our programming to teach breathing techniques that help athletes stay calm, focused, and present under pressure. These are tools students carry into school, competition, and everyday life.
🎒 Equipment & Resources: Volleyballs, jerseys, backpacks, equipment, and student resources delivered directly to the school, so more kids can play and keep growing between our visits.
🤝 Built With the Community: After our December clinics, the school invited students, parents, and teachers to share their experiences. Of the roughly 170 people who took part, 138 responded, an incredible 81% response rate! This community isn’t just attending the program. It’s helping shape its future.
🌱 Growing the LOV in Yabucoa: The work is expanding! We’re now laying the foundation for a new school partnership in Yabucoa, bringing the same consistent access, equipment, mentorship, and whole-athlete programming to another community.
Why Puerto Rico? Puerto Rico’s volleyball culture is deep and powerful. Talent, passion, and pride are everywhere, but access to equipment, consistent programming, and development opportunities isn’t always equal. LOV exists to help close that gap, because every athlete deserves someone who believes in their limitless potential, and every community deserves partners willing to keep showing up. 🫶🏾❤️
We need YOU to help us keep building! Every contribution helps us run the next clinic, equip the next team, and reach the next student in Naranjito and Yabucoa.
